This concentration in movement began by exploring people in various night time settings. I started by focusing on classic long exposure photography. I captured everyday street life as the subject of my images involving reflections and stars (1,2,3,4,5).
After experimenting, I progressed to explore long exposure images without light streaks as the prominent subject (6,7). In doing so, I learned how to create images that shared areas of motion and stillness within one photograph (8,9).
Using these skills, I combined more abstract and alternative processes to create more unusual and experimental imagery. I achieved this by both involving more upscale photographic manipulation (10,11) and by utilizing circumstances such as a dancing individual in contrast with a reflection to create a more unique and powerful image (12). This project on movement led me on a journey melding light and motion. Photography can display how everyone leaves a trace behind, whether one knows or not.
